ozED - Projects

Communications

General Introduction

To be able to offer an effective support group, communications is one, if not the most important aspect of the function of the group.

ozED is somewhat unique in our approach to communication.  To both continue and improve these communication services we have broken each component down and listed it as a project.

Teleconferencing of meetings
The idea of teleconferencing the ozED meeting is as old as the group.  It is a program that we identified as ensuring that rural and remote members had the same ability to contribute and participate as any other member.

Tackling the issues of the Geographical aspects of a National Support Group, lead us naturally to teleconferencing.

Our Teleconferencing is currently hosted through Telstra Australia.

The cost to the group of the Teleconferencing is approximately $1,000.00 per year.

ozED Web Site

The ozED web site is currently hosted by Digital Pacific.  Their "basic" plan offers us 260MB of space, 10 sub-domain names (such as the state sites, conference, youth and this projects site) and 10,000 Bandwidth.

This costs ozED $24.95 per month.

The ozED domain name costs ozED $59.00 for two years.

Total Sponsorship Value $328.90.

ozED - Newsletter
The ozED newsletter is a quarterly publication that is produced by our editor (and Secretary) Danielle.  The newsletter is distributed to all members by email where possible and by normal mail to those members that do not have email access.

As the ozED education program expands we will see the newsletter being sent out to far greater numbers of professional practitioners in dental, medical, community health, education and community groups.

At the moment the cost of the newsletter is kept to a minimum by the generous donation of time by Danielle.  As the publication demands grow it is clear that the printing of the newsletter will need to be considered.

It is estimated that we will need to allow approximately $125.00 per edition cost ($500.00 per annum) would be needed to cover the cost of the newsletter.
